Strengthening its business solutions with enhanced HR technology in the UK

LONDON – 11 February 2010 – ADP®, a leading provider of outsourced HR, payroll, employment screening, and time and attendance services, today announced it has acquired UK-based OneClickHR plc, a leading supplier of premier HR technology solutions to UK-based companies and multi-national clients.

By acquiring OneClickHR plc, which in the marketplace is better known as Vizual Business Tools, ADP will strengthen its HR offering by adding HR.net Enterprise. HR.net Enterprise is OneClickHR’s flagship application which is currently delivered through either a scalable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or a traditional in-house model. The application provides annual appraisals, employee self-service, e-recruitment, performance management, talent management and salary reviews.

Don McGuire, Managing Director for ADP operations in the United Kingdom said, “Acquiring OneClickHR supports our ongoing strategic objective to provide innovative business services and solutions to our clients in the UK. The acquisition will create a broader suite of HR technology and tools, including e-recruitment, which compliments our existing web-based HR and payroll services solutions. The acquisition will enable us to deepen our functionality and provide greater configurability. We understand the pressures placed on HR professionals and we will continue to support our clients so they can focus on the strategic goals of their business.”

HR software is becoming an indispensable and ever more sophisticated tool for the profession. From the evolution of Software as a Service to clever e-learning tools and mobile technology, Helen Williams asks a wide selection of HR software providers and experts what they think HR will demand from software applications in 2010.

Frank Beechinor, chief executive at HR software provider Vizual says:

“I don’t think enthusiasm for SaaS has stalled – our SaaS clients have increased by 30% in the past year. The common perception is that you can’t offer tailored solutions through a SaaS model, but completely configured solutions are available, and the customer has the choice: we host, you host – you decide.

There has been increased use of workflow tools to allow easier automation of routine tasks. We see this trend continuing in 2010 and beyond. The future will be less about the data and more about what you do with the data.

We anticipate continued blurring of the lines separating HR systems and other business systems. In the past, many HR systems have been static, people data repositories used just by HR. The latest generation of technology allows easier, faster and more powerful integration. For example, when you recruit an employee there is no reason why your HR system cannot initiate an employee on the company network, or deactivate a user account when someone leaves.

There will be increased use of mobile computing, with managers able do everything from their mobile device, from looking at information to authorising requests.

There is also likely to be more consolidation of HR data and processes across borders. The emergence of the latest web-based and SaaS solutions has meant that global business can now have one HR system across the world that is easy to deploy and doesn’t cost the earth.”

While impressive client lists, ties with powerful partners or the usurping of bigger competitors are not infrequent among the AIM ranks, they rarely all occur at the same company. That is what makes Beckenham-based human resources software specialist OneClickHR (OCR) special.

The heavyweight quality of its customer base is surprising for a company with such a lowly market cap, especially when you consider that these clients rely on OCR’s software to manage their entire workforces. The roster, which has been bolstered by more than 120 contract wins over the past 18 months, includes the likes of private equity giant Apax Partners, Honda, engineer Foster Wheeler, Hilton, EMI Music and ‘magic circle’ law firm SJ Berwin.

A further endorsement of the quality of the technology is that US-based Ceridian, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of HR software, has paid a large upfront fee and hands over an annual royalty for a licence to rebrand the technology under its own name. It offers OCR’s technology to its large outsourcing customers, which include two UK high street retailers.

OneClickHR, the AIM quoted HR software and solutions provider, is pleased to provide an update on current trading based upon the first six months of its financial year. The interim results for the 6 months ended 30th June 2009 will be released in September 2009.

The Directors are pleased the positive momentum of the Group has continued and as a consequence total revenues are expected to be ahead of the comparative period in 2008. The Group continues to be cash generative and remains debt free.

In June the Group released its new products HR.net Lite, HR.net Express and HR.net Professional which are aimed at smaller organisations with simpler HR software requirements for whom HR.net Enterprise is not a cost effective solution. These products are also being offered to our existing customers using legacy products who wish to take advantage of modern software
capabilities. This release was supported by a significant marketing campaign which included the distribution of 44,000 free copies of HR.net Lite with an easy upgrade to the „paid for‟ versions.

Our core solution, HR.net Enterprise remains very competitive in the market place. During the period further customer wins included a significant private equity firm, a major overseas telecoms operator, an award winning architects practice, a leading international charity and a housing association as well as businesses in the insurance, defence and retail sectors.

As previously announced, the Group‟s strategy of expansion into new territories has led to the appointment of its first sales partners in both Canada and the USA. Further partners are being sought and we expect to make significant progress towards full coverage in this territory during the year. These initial partners have already achieved their first sales of HR.net Enterprise and
the recent release of a full US version of HR.net Enterprise at the Society for Human Resource Management conference in New Orleans in late June was positively received.

The global analysts at Gartner have recently included HR.net Enterprise within their research universe and we believe this will reinforce our competitive positioning, especially in North America. We already have an increased sales pipeline from this territory and this will expand as the partner network grows. With a sales network in place we will also have the option of taking our SME level products to this continent.

Frank Beechinor, chief executive officer of OneClickHR, commented:
“Trading since our last update to the market has continued with the same momentum. We are particularly pleased with our most recent customer wins against major competitors in a range of markets. This underlines the continuing strength of our HR.net technology. We have also just released HR.net Enterprise v4 which ensures we maintain technical competitive advantage over
other vendors in the market.

The sales pipeline for HR.net Enterprise has continued to grow, despite the general economic conditions. The release of HR.net Lite, Express and Professional at the recent HRSS show in London will give us added momentum as well as increasing our addressable market. These products also allow us to migrate existing customers from our older technology. Combined, these
will help build total recurring revenue.

We have continued to make good progress in North America. The launch of our US localised product and the appointment of additional partners will help ensure that we have a strong sales pipeline from that market”.

London, UK, 22 May 2009 – Launching on 4 June 2009, UK HR Software company Vizual is taking the unprecedented step of giving away its HR.net Lite Human Resources software free of charge.

This is the first time that fully functioning HR software has been available as free software – and it’s not time limited either. UK businesses typically pay from £300 to £1,000+ for this level of Human Resources software.

“Vizual can do this, because we are a well-established company, with steady revenues from selling our HR software since 1996,” says Vizual’s Marketing Manager, Eamon Carney-Holland. “In the current economic climate, many businesses are under pressure so we want to assist if we can. HR.net Lite will help them to reduce their HR workload, and in the longer term, we expect that some of the small companies who use our free software will expand and upgrade to one of our HR.net packages for larger businesses.”

Vizual offers four versions of HR.net for companies of different sizes. HR.net Express is for companies with up to 250 people, HR.net Professional for those with 400 employees and HR.net Enterprise for the largest blue chip companies.

HR.net Lite helps to manage the Human Resources workload by automating many of the routine HR tasks. It has functions to organise employee data, track important dates and keep workforce paperwork up to date. It is easy to install on a PC or server and automates most HR tasks – employment, holiday and absence, training, talent, health and safety and company documents. It also provides event triggers and a selection of reports and charts.

HR.net Lite is perfect for businesses with up to 15 members of staff and is web-based – a first for this level of HR software.

Anybody can contact Vizual for their free copy of HR.net Lite. Just contact FREE@vizual.co.uk or call 0844 770 0250.

OneClickHR, the AIM quoted HR software and solutions provider, is pleased to provide an update on current trading and will announce the following at its AGM to be held this afternoon.

During 2009, the Group has continued to build on the success of its 2008 trading performance. Sales of software licences, revenues from SaaS customers and implementation revenues for the first 4 months of 2009 are all ahead of the comparative period in 2008. The Group has been cash generative during this period.

The Group can report the sales pipeline for its HR.net software solutions remains strong.

The growth in HR.net installations reflects the competitiveness of HR.net as a HR solution for enterprise customers. The group continues to enter new market sectors through new client contract wins and new clients include a significant private equity firm, a major overseas telecoms operator, and a housing association as well as businesses in the insurance sector, the defence sector and the retail sector.

In line with the Group‟s strategy of expansion into new territories, OneClickHR has appointed sales partners in both Canada and the USA. These partners have achieved their first sales, adding the North American continent to the current list of overseas markets that already include Australasia, Europe, and the Caribbean.

As stated in the 2008 Financial Results, the Group is re-branding HR.net as HR.net Enterprise and is developing a new product range. In accordance with this commitment, the Group is pleased to announce that it is on track for timely delivery of the improved range in mid-2009. The new products, branded as HR.net Lite, HR.net Express and HR.net Professional, replace legacy products developed for smaller organisations. As a result, the Group believes that its enhanced product range will mean that it can deliver a strong, modern product for any organisation, irrespective of size.

In line with the stated intention to grow as a profitable and cash generative business, the Group is implementing a re-organisation of its training business to create cost efficiencies and, more importantly, to ensure the business is best placed to enhance future growth of the Group. No significant costs are expected to arise from this exercise.

Frank Beechinor, chief executive officer of OneClickHR, commented:
“I am delighted the 2009 trading year has had such a positive start as a result of our improved sales and marketing activities. In spite of the economic downturn we have a strong sales pipeline for HR.net solutions. Businesses are continuing to take advantage of our products as they offer reduced costs and increased efficiencies.

I am particularly pleased to announce our first customers in North America. This is a market that we have identified as being of distinct interest and our initial efforts have led to a growing sales pipeline from this market. I expect to be appointing additional sales partners in this territory to increase our presence.

I also look forward to the forthcoming launch of our expanded range of HR.net software solutions. This will mean we can offer modern software to our installed base and importantly address the requirements of a broader range of organisations.

The expansion into new markets and of our product range means that, during this time of economic uncertainty, we are well positioned to deliver increasing shareholder value.”
